My parent’s next door neighbor owns an electrical store in the small sleepy town where they live. He was this nice elderly man who always had time to chat with me or show me around his store. I used to drop by his store almost everyday after school. I still drop in at his store whenever I am back in town. On my recent trip, he was proudly showing me his newest stock, a Delonghi espresso machine. I remembered staring at it in amazement. Then he asked me if I thought it was going to be a white elephant in his store. I am not sure if he was psychic or because I had “doubt” written all over my face. Well, it is not about the product. It is more about the tiny town where they live. The people are mostly elderly folks who enjoy having their coffee at the town’s diners rather than making their own. But he assured me that things are changing around there and that it would be a matter of time before he will be bringing in more to sell. I shall know when I go back next month.
